Rhys hits the front cover of Tracks

I recently got home from competing in a 6 star WQS event at Aragum Bay Sri Lanka where I managed to put together a bunch of really good heats and coming away with a 5th place result, my best so far on tour this year. I was eventually taken down in the man on man quarter finals by Julian Wilson who went on to win the even.

I have been home now for a couple of weeks and in that time the August issue of Tracks Magazine came out with me posted on the cover (yep, that's me below!).

A perfect shot from one of my favorite waves not to far from home. A surfing magazine cover has always been right up there as one of my top goals and to get it on Tracks which is probably the hardest Australian surfing magazine cover to get, I am super stoked!

Last weekend I also competed in the NSW Open State Titles which was a really good practice event for me while I am home and I came away with a second place securing me a spot in the NSW team to compete at the Australian tittles.

So its been a really busy and exciting past month and now I am focussing and preparing for my next big trip in a couple weeks which will have me competing in five 6 star WQS events starting with the US Open in California then over to France and Spain for the next four.

So hopefully I can keep the ball rolling and back up with more tope results!

Till next time,

Rhyso
